Evaluation of response time in monitoring system on the accuracy of recording individual feeding behavior and feed intake in dairy cows

The monitoring system can automatically collect the quantitative data of feeding behavior and feed intake individual cattle, immediate response always records many non-eating visits. Increasing time trigger helps to decrease recording visits, but may also miss some small periods intake. This study was evaluate effect in on accuracy dairy cows. first experiment investigate distribution 10-h behaviors 8 Holstein cows after morning by using infra-red camera. second recorded with different times (0.3, 3, 6, 12 24 s) comparison direct weighting. third excluding interval visiting system, when set as 0.3 s. results showed that most eating visits had duration larger than s (99.0 %) less (65.3 %), respectively.
